Setelah mengumumkan Steam OS dan Steam Machine, Valve melanjutkan rangkaian pengumuman produk hiburan keluarga mereka dengan mengumumkan sebuah game controller yang disebut sebagai Steam Controller. Game controller dari Valve tersebut memiliki bentuk yang cukup berbeda dari kebanyakan game controller yang ada saat ini.
