Escherichia coli merupakan bakteri

Escherichia coli merupakan bakteri anaerob fakultatif gram negatif berbentuk
batang yang termasuk dalam famili Enterobacteriaceae. Baktei ini merupakan
penghuni normal usus, selain berkembang biak di lingkungan sekitar manusia.
Pertama dijumpai pada tahun 1885 (Arisman, 2009).
