Pariwisata merupakan salah satu sektor yang menjanjikan karena mampu memberikan kontribusi yang cukup besar untuk kemajuan suatu negara. Sektor ini mampu mengintegrasikan kemajuan perekonomian pada berbagai dimensi pada skala nasional, regional, global, dan juga dapat memberikan peluang bergeraknya berbagai kegiatan ekonomi masyarakat terutama di sebuah desa. Adanya pembangunan destinasi wisata di sebuah desa atau bisa disebut dengan istilah desa wisata, tentu saja dapat menjadi suatu lapangan pekerjaan baru yang bisa menekan angka pengangguran sehingga mampu meminimalisir kemiskinan masyarakatnya. Pembangunan kawasan desa wisata rupanya berpengaruh banyak pula pada pelestarian wisata gastronomi karena keberadaannya mampu mengangkat eksistensi makanan dan minuman yang dilihat dari sisi budaya dan juga keautentikan asal daerahnya. Hal inilah yang membuat desa wisata menjadi salah satu alternatif yang berpotensi untuk mengembangkan pariwisata di Indonesia.

The development of the tourist village area apparently has many influence on the preservation of gastronomic tourism because its existence is able to lift the existence of food and beverages seen from the cultural side and also authenticity the origin of the region. This is what makes tourism village one of the potential alternatives to developing tourism in Indonesia.
