Pada bab ini akan dijelaskan tentang pengertian pengembangan bahan ajar, fungsi bahan ajar, tujuan bahan ajar, manfaat bahan ajar, dan bentuk bahan ajar.
a. Pengertian Pengembangan Bahan Ajar
Bahan ajar adalah seperangkat materi yang disusun secara sistematis dan menarik yang digunakan sebagai panduan belajar siswa ataupun sebagai acuan guru untuk mengajarkan materi kepada siswa. Sejalan dengan hal itu, Abdul Majid menyatakan bahwa bahan ajar merupakan segala bentuk bahan, informasi, alat dan teks yang digunakan untuk membantu guru/instruktur dalam melaksanakan kegiatan belajar mengajar. Bahan yang dimaksud bisa berupa tertulis maupun bahan yang tidak tertulis.
