Namaku Apni Rezeki Ermelia Tondang. Saat ini tengah menyelesaikan studi Magister Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat di USU Medan. Aku lahir dan besar di kota Medan yang sarat dengan multikultur dan agama. Sejak kecil, aku banyak bersentuhan dengan teman-teman yang Muslim, karena aku memulai pendidikan Taman Kanak Kanak di TK Muhammadiyah selama 2 tahun, lalu lanjut di Sekolah Dasar Katolik yang seluruhnya adalah Kristen. Namun sejak SMP, SMU dan kuliah, aku sekolah di sekolah negeri yang mayoritas adalah teman-teman Muslim. Ini membuatku selama SMP dan SMU banyak berteman dan bersahabat dengan teman-teman Muslim. Sejak masuk bangku kuliah, aku terlibat aktif dalam organisasi mahasiswa Kristen di kampus, dan menghabiskan hampir seluruh waktu luangku dengan mahasiswa Kristen, dan melupakan untuk menjalin hubungan yang berarti dengan teman-teman Muslim yang adalah mayoritas di kampusku. Ini membuatku tidak banyak mengenal bagaimana umat Muslim yang sebenarnya.
Sebelum bergabung dengan YIPC, aku berpikir mustahil untuk bisa berdamai dengan yang berbeda iman dan pandangan teologis, karena aku memiliki prasangka bahwa umat Muslim tidak akan mau mendengar pandangan yang berbeda dari mereka, atau menjalin hubungan dengan orang-orang di luar Muslim.
Namun, ketika bergabung di YIPC aku melihat bahwa teman-teman Muslim juga adalah orang-orang yang mau terbuka dan berhubungan dengan orang-orang di luar Muslim, sehingga perdamaian yang sejati di tengah keberagaman, khususnya antara umat Muslim-Nasrani sebagai agama mayoritas terbesar di dunia, adalah sesuatu yang mungkin terjadi. Di YIPC aku semakin belajar untuk mengasihi Allah dan mengasihi sesama sesuai dengan perintah Isa Al-Masih sendiri. Semakin aku belajar mengenal saudara-saudara Muslim, maka aku juga semakin belajar untuk mendalami dan mentaati perintah-perintah Al-Masih.
Berbekal nilai-nilai perdamaian dan pengalaman yang kudapat di YIPC, aku juga belajar bagaimana secara pribadi menyikapi konflik-konflik yang tengah terjadi di Indonesia dan berbagai belahan dunia lain. Semoga semakin banyak orang-orang muda yang mau bergabung bersama YIPC untuk membangun generasi damai.

My Name Is Ermelia Tondang Apni Sustenance. Currently completing a Masters in public health studies at USU Medan. I was born and raised in the city of Medan which is laden with religious and multicultural. Since childhood, I come into contact with a lot of friends who are Muslim, because I started Kindergarten the kindergarten education in kindergarten Muhammadiyah for 2 years, and then at the Catholic primary school is entirely Christian. However, since junior high, high school and College, I school in a public school which the majority is Muslim friends. This makes me during junior high and HIGH SCHOOL friends and befriended many Muslim friends. Since entering college, I'm actively involved in Christian student organization on campus, and spend almost the whole time luangku with Christian students, and forget to establish relationships with Muslim friends who are the majority in kampusku. This makes me not know how many Muslims actually is. Prior to joining YIPC, I think it is impossible to be reconciled with a different theological views and faith, because I have a prejudice that Muslims will not want to hear different views from them, or build a relationship with people outside of the Muslims.However, when joined in YIPC I see that Muslim friends also are people who are willing to open up and connect with people outside of the Muslims, so that true peace in the midst of diversity, especially among Muslims-Christians as the world's largest religion, is something that might happen. In YIPC I increasingly learn to love God and to love our fellow according to the command of Jesus Christ himself. The more I learn to know the Muslim brothers and sisters, then I'm also increasingly studied for deepen and obey the commandments of Christ.Armed with the values of peace and the experience of kudapat in YIPC, I also learned how personally addressing the conflicts which occurred in Indonesia and various other parts of the world. Hopefully more and more young people who want to join together to build a new peaceful generation of YIPC.

My name is Apni Rezeki Ermelia Tondang. He is currently completing his studies in the Master of Public Health Sciences USU Medan. Before joining YIPC, I think it is impossible to come to terms with different faith and theological perspective, because I have the prejudice that Muslims would not want to hear a different view of them, or a relationship with people outside of the Muslims.
However, when joined YIPC I see that our Muslim friends also are people who are willing to open up and connect with people outside the Muslim, so that peace is true in the midst of diversity, especially among people Muslim-Christian as the majority religion in the world, is something that might happen. In YIPC I even learned to love God and love others as prescribed by Jesus Christ himself. The more I learn about the Muslim brothers, then I am also increasingly learn to explore and obey the commands of Christ.
Armed with the values of peace and the experience I got in YIPC, I also learned how to personally address the conflicts are happening in Indonesia and other parts of the world. May more young people who want to join together YIPC to build a generation of peace.
