Research on language teachingWhat is research?Research is a general term which covers all kinds of studies designed to find worthwhile responses to questions by means of a systematic and scientific approach. according to toNunan (1992, 3) Research is a systematic process of inquiry consisting of three elements or components: (1) a question, problem or hypothesis, (2) data, and (3) analysis and interpretation. " Research is the art and science in order to find answers to problems (Yoseph and Yoseph in Syamsuddin and Damaianti, 2006:2). Since it is a scientific and artistic research provide spaces that will accommodate differences of the research. Research can also be interpreted as a way of observation or inkuiri and aims to find answers to problems or the process of discovery, the discovery well atauinvention. Discovery results are interpreted as actually indeed already there. Invention can be defined as research results are downright recently with the support of facts. In general the purpose of the research activities is to explain the world around us through systematic efforts (Kamil, 1995). Based on that formula, the goal of language teaching research is a systematic attempt to describe, understand, solve, and anticipate the problems of language teaching. In detail the purpose of the research teaching of the language is as follows: a. find and develop theories, models, or new strategies in language teaching; b. apply, test, and evaluate the ability of theories, models, language teaching strategies in solving problems of language teaching; c. describe and explain the circumstances or the relationship of the various issues associated with problem ataupikiran Englishd. solve the problem of language teaching; e. find the factors that affect the issue of language teaching; f. make decisions or policies concerning language teaching. United Kingdom language teaching research (English Language Teaching: ELT) is a very complex issue. There are a number of variables or factors that potentially could affect the success of foreign language teaching. However, the method of teaching may be considered a determinant factor in determining the success of language teaching United Kingdom.
