Diantara 1590-1613 ia menulis tidak kurang dari 34 drama tetapi tidak satupun diterbitkan semasa hidupnya. Semua karyanya diterbitkan untuk pertama kali beberapa tahun setelah ia meninggal, yaitu pada tahun 1623, dalam satu edisi yang terkenal sebagai “first folio”.
