SEKILAS TENTANG DEKONSTRUKSI DERRIDEAN
Dekonstruksi adalah cara membaca teks yang berbeda yang ditawarkan Derrida berdasarkan
pemikirannya bahwa teks tidak memiliki makna tunggal. Derrida berseberangan dengan kaum
strukturalis Saussurean yang selalu berpijak pada oposisi biner yang tidak saja membedakan
tetapi juga bersifat hierarkis. Menurut Derrida, hal ini dikarenakan kaum strukturalis tersebut
mempercayai adanya satu makna absolut (the Logos).
Menolak ide makna tunggal-absolut, Derrida menawarkan konsep ‘differance’ yang berasal dari
kata ‘to defer’ (menunda) dan ‘to differ’ (berbeda, makna lain/tersembunyi). Selain itu, dalam
menolak makna tunggal Derrida juga menyodorkan konsep ‘trace’ di mana makna tidaklah
bersifat tunggal melainkan lebih berupa jejak-jejak makna sebelumnya. Dalam ‘trace’ ini juga
terkandung intertekstualitas, yaitu bahwa dalam satu teks ada jejak dari teks (-teks) lain yang
membuat makna teks tersebut menjadi terbuka untuk dire-interpretasi berulang kali.
Untuk menggali makna-makna tersembunyi teks, teks bisa didekonstruksi melalui langkah-
langkah sederhana sebagai berikut: Pertama, mengidentifikasi oposisi biner (op-bin) yang
dihadirkan teks. Kemudian menggali asumsi yang melandasi op-bin tersebut. Setelah itu
dilakukan ‘sous rature’ (pemberian tanda silang) secara imaginer pada bagian tertentu untuk
mengkritisi maknanya. Akhirnya, membalik struktur hierarkis op-bin tersebut untuk menghasilkan
makna baru. Dalam dekonstruksi Derridean ini kreativitas untuk menggali makna yang berbeda
yang tersembunyi sangatlah diperlukan.
