Pengadilan Militer Jakarta Timur memvonis Brigjen TNI Teddy Hernayadi dengan hukuman seumur hidup, Rabu, 30 November 2016. Majelis Hakim yang dipimpin Brigjen Deddy Suryanto membacakan putusan tersebut. Teddy terbukti melakukan korupsi anggaran pembelian alat utama sistem persenjataan (alutsista) 2010-2014 sebesar US$ 12 juta.

Kasus rasuah tersebut diduga bermula ketika Teddy masih berpangkat kolonel dan menjabat Kepala Bidang Pelaksana Pembiayaan Kementerian Pertahanan periode 2010-2014. Berdasarkan surat keputusan Panglima TNI tertanggal 31 Desember 2013, Teddy mendapat promosi menjadi Direktur Keuangan Markas Besar TNI AD dengan pangkat jenderal bintang satu atau brigadir jenderal hingga sekarang.
Sejak 2015, Inspektur Jenderal Kementerian Pertahanan Marsekal Madya Ismono Wijayanto menuturkan sudah mengendus kecurangan yang diduga dilakukan Teddy. Ia mengatakan Teddy diduga menyalahgunakan wewenang yang berakibat merugikan negara.

Modus kecurangannya, ucap Ismono, Teddy diduga menandatangani atau menerbitkan surat tanpa izin dari atasannya, Kepala Pusat Keuangan Kementerian Pertahanan, bahkan Menteri Pertahanan selaku pengguna anggaran.
