Pedagang kaki lima adalah istilah untuk menyebut penjaja dagangan yang melakukan kegiatan komersial di atas daerah milik jalan yang diperuntukkan untuk pejalan kaki. di indonesia pedagang kaki lima sering kita jumpai hampir disetiap penjuru kota di indonesia. salah satunya adalah ibu yani. bu yani adalah pedagang kaki lima yang setiap harinya berjualan di depan kampus ilmu budaya. ibu yani menjual jajanan seperti kentang, nugget, otak-otak dan sosis dengan ditambah dengan bumbu untuk menambah cita rasa jajanan tersebut.

ibu yani sudah berjualan di depan kampus ilmu budaya sejak bulan maret tahun 2012. dia memilih untuk berjualan karena dia bosen menjadi ibu rumah tangga dan mencari sesuatu yang dapat ia kerjakan namun dapat membantu keuangan keluarganya. disisi lain dengan usaha bedagang jajanan di depan kampus, ia juga hanya mengeluarkan modal yang tidak besar untuk usahanya tersebut.

hingga saat ini keuntungan yang di dapat ibu yani cukup untuk membantu keungan keluarganya. walaupun usaha yang dibangunnya tak seberapa, namun semangatnya untuk mencari rezeki yang halal patut diberi apresiasi.
