Makanan “ sego golong” golong ini juga bisa dipakai diacara acara lain, yang bertujuan untuk memohon doa Allah. Tidak hanya masyarakat Jogjakarta saja yang menggunakan seg golong ini dalam kenduri,selametan dan syukuran,tapi masyarakat jawa didaerah lain juga menggunakannya dalam acara tersebut, seperti daerah Jawa Timur,Jawa tengah dan Jawa Barat juga menggukannya. Tidak ada perbedaan dalam bentuk atau nama dari sego golong dari setiap daerah tersebut. Dalam arti kata di daerah Jawa semuanya nya tidak ada perbedaan, karena ini adalah makanan khas yang sudah turun temurun dari adat sebelumnya.
