Empat kemenyan tersebut bermakna merah sebagai unsur api, kuning sebagai unsur angin, putih sebagai unsur air, dan hitam sebagai unsur bumi. Dalam ritual ini dilaksanakan pula penumbalan hewan kambing dan ayam, dimana kambing tersebut disembelih dan diambil bagian kepala dan kakinya saja untuk dikubur didekat mata air , sedangkan ayam disembelih dan langsung dikubur seluruhnya.
