Kurikulum 2013 tidak bisa dipungkiri masih menimbulkan banyak pertanyaan dalam proses pelaksanaannya di lapangan. Berdasarkan kebijakan pemerintah, belum semua sekolah menerapkan pelaksanaan kurikulum 2013, hal ini menjadi tantangan bagi guru khususnya guru sosiologi untuk mempersiapkan pembelajaran sosiologi yang bermutu dan rekreatif agar siswa menentukan pilihan terhadap mata pelajaran sosiologi dalam pemilihan lintas minat.
