Dengan demikian, bahan ajar interaktif dapat dimaknai sebagai bahan ajar yang bersifat aktif, maksudnya ia didesain agar dapat melakukan perintah balik kepada pengguna untuk melakukan suatu aktivitas. Jadi, bahan ajar ini tidak seperti bahan ajar cetak atau model (maket) yang hanya pasif dan tidak bisa melakukan kendali terhadap penggunanya. Dalam bahan ajar interaktif ini, pengguna (peserta didik) terlibat interaksi dua arah dengan bahan ajar yang sedang dipelajarian, dan teknik penyusunan bahan ajar interaktif.
