As in other big cities in Indonesia, AMIU also has become an alternative for residents in the district of Tanjung Redep in meeting drinking water needs. In this district there are 6 (six) DAMIU who have an average production of 720 gallons per day, so it is assumed approximately 6.98% of the population consumes drinking water refills. Based on an examination of the bacteriological quality of raw water in 2006 conducted by PHC Tanjung Redep, on 72 samples contained 53% water containing coliform bacteria. Whereas the raw water that is used in drinking water depots must be eligible in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 416 / Menkes / Per / IX / 1990 regarding Requirements and Water Quality Monitoring, ie the content of E. coli and total coliform at 0 JPT / 100 ml sample. Thus this study aims to determine hygiene and sanitation in the district of Tanjung Redep DAMIU, Berau district, East Kalimantan Province.
