Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan bahasan diatas, penulis akan membuat kesimpulan mengenai hubungan tema dan plot dalam novel pride and prejudice by jane austen.
Plot adalah struktur rangkaian kejadian dalam cerita yang disusun sebagai urutan bagian-bagian dalam keseluruhan fiksi. Dengan demikian, plot merupakan perpaduan unsur-unsur yang membangun cerita sehingga menjadi kerangka utama cerita. Plot juga merupakan kerangka dasar yang amat penting dalam sebuah cerita. Plot yang mengatur suatu peristiwa mempunyai hubungan dengan peristiwa lain, serta bagaimana tokoh digambarkan dan berperan dalam peristiwa itu. Selain itu plot juga akan berkaitan dengan setting of time and setting of place. Karena plot akan beriringan dengan waktu dan tempat, dimana dan kapan sebuah peristiwa itu terjadi. Dengan adanya plot maka akan sangat mudah untuk mengetahui dan menemukan tema dalam sebuah cerita.
Tema merupakan makna atau inti dari sebuah cerita. Tema juga bisa disebut sebagai kesimpulan dari isi cerita atau sebuah novel. Hubungan tema dan plot dalam sebuah cerita akan sangat erat kaitannya, karena untuk menemukan tema itu sendiri, terlebih dahulu kita harus mengetahui bagaimana alur atau plot dalam cerita tersebut.
