Kondisi tutupan dan tipe hutan merupakan salah satu kriteria dalam menentukan lokasi potensial untuk forest asset. Wilayah yang diidentifikasi terkait potensi forest asset adalah di bagian utara Kabupaten Murung Raya, Kalimantan Tengah dan sekitarnya, selanjutnya disebut sebagai area of interest. Sebagian wilayah ini mempunyai bentuk medan yang bervariasi dari landai, berbukit, dan barisan pegunungan dengan dinding-dinding vertikal dengan tipe hutan yang unik di atas batu pasir yang sangat kurang nutrisi.

Forest cover type and condition is one of the criteria in determining the potential for forest asset location. The region identified potential forest related asset is in the northern part of Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan and beyond, hereinafter referred to as the area of interest.
