Genus mikania has approximately 450 species found around the world in tropical and subtropical areas (Anderson et al., 2012). Mikania is included in the Asteraceae Family has a name customarily American rope, Chinese creeper, and Mile-a-minute weed. Some areas also named the plants with a variety of names including Kaipu vally, Dhritharashtra pacha (Kerala India), Cheroma, rat the teller–Ulam design (Malaysia), and the vines Sembung (Indonesia) (Ram, 2008). Mikania spread across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands, Australia, Mauritius, and South American countries, Guangdong, China, Hong Kong, Macau and Guangxi (Anderson et al., 2012).
