The development of the former area of research related to the identification of forest fires and land use remote sensing data today has resulted in an increased need for data on the size of land and forest fires in both the regional and global scale (Giglio et al. 2009). In addition, Government Regulation No. 45 of 2004 on the Protection of Forests has required that one of the post-fire management activities is measuring and sketching the location of the fire. However, there is some difficulty when measuring in the field. Extent of data collection in locations difficult to reach, until the results are made with estimates, therefore accuracy is very questionable. Thus, efforts to obtain accurate data and can overcome some of the obstacles encountered in the field needed technology that can provide solutions, one of them by using remote sensing data such as MODIS.
