Puisi adalah ungkapan perasaan yang meluap-luap. Oleh karena itu, kita sering menjumpai puisi yang di dalamnya menceritakan tentang kehidupan, tentang cinta atau perasaan, tentang suatu keadaan atau kondisi, dan lain-lain. Hal ini terjadi karena pada dasarnya a poet mencurahkan semua perasaannya lewat puisi, sehingga dari puisi itu kita dapat mengetahui apa yang sedang terjadi pada saat itu.
