Brown algae is one of the natural resources of the sea whose existence is very abundant in the sea of Indonesia. The color of Brown algae comes from one of the dominant pigments found in the algae, namely fukosantin, fukosantin have strong antioxidant properties. The aim of this scientific Paper to find out the relationship between temperature, long drying and extraction process of compound fukosantin against with antioxidant activity. Using the method of drying oven and antioksidam activity in the test with the method of DPPH (1.1-diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazil). IC50 values yield results showed antioxidant 37,68-48,03 ppm at a temperature of 500C for 4 hours. The results of the extraction with organic solvents polar solvent indicate that methanol can extract more optimal fukosantin compared to ethanol, DMSO, acetonitrile and acetone. The content of fukosantin by solvent methanol is 2.6049 mg/g dry weight. The process of extraction with solvents methanol at a temperature of 500C for 4 hours can increase the levels of fukosantin compounds and antioxidant activities.
