Integrated Pest Management (IPM) telah disadari sebagai suatu konsep atau paradigma yang dinamis, dan selalu menyesuaikan diri dengan dinamika ekosistem pertanian dan sistem sosial ekonomi budaya masyarakat setempat. Pengembangan konsep PHT menjadi dua paradigma yaitu Technological Integrated Pest Management (PHT Teknologi atau disebut juga PHT Klasik) dan Ecological Integrated Pest Management (PHT) Ekologi) (Waage 1996 dalam Untung 2003). Teknologi yang dikembangkan untuk mengendalikan hama dan pertanaman padi di dasarkan kepada konsep pengendalian hama terpadu (PHT) dengan mempertimbangkan ekosistem, stabilitas, dan kesinambungan produksi sesuai dengan tuntutan praktek pertanian yang baik (Good Agricultural Practices, GAP). Meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat akan lingkungan hidup telah mendorong perlunya memprioritaskan aspek kelestarian lingkungan dan faktor keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) dalam pengambilan keputusan ekonomi

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) has been realized as a concept or paradigm that is dynamic, and always conform to the dynamics of the agricultural ecosystem and socio-economic system of the culture of the local community. The development of the concept of IPM into two i.e. Technological paradigm of Integrated Pest Management (IPM technology or also called PHT Classic) and Ecological Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Ecology) (Waage 1996 Profit in 2003). Technology developed to control pests and pertanaman padi is based on the concept of integrated pest control (PHT) by considering the ecosystem, stability, and continuity of production in accordance with the demands of good farming practices (Good Agricultural Practices, GAP). Increased public awareness will be the environment has prompted the need to prioritize the aspects of environmental sustainability and safety and occupational health (K3) in economic decision-making
