The difference between the two lies in the theory of theoretical assumptions used by each theory. Structural theory of functional assume that: (a) the public is formed on the basis of consensus of citizens, (b) members of the community have a shared commitment of the values, norms, and culture that must be adhered to and maintained together, (c) the relationship between community members cohesive, ( d) prioritize solidarity between citizens, (d) maintaining a relationship of reciprocity among citizens, based on the authority of the leader of the legitimacy of citizens, and (e) communities maintain social order (social order) in living together. Structural theory of conflict assumes: (a) the public is formed on the basis of a conflict of interest, (b) urge members of society produce changes, (c) the relationship between citizens are devisive, (d) the characteristics of the opposition is more prominent in social relationships, (e) structural conflict becomes part of social change in the community, (f) the public is also characterized by growing social differentiation, and (g) social disorder causes people to be dynamic.
