Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi area bekas kebakaran hutan dan lahan di beberapa wilayah terpilih di Provinsi Kalimantan Barat menggunakan beberapa nilai indeks yang diturunkan dari data penginderaan jauh MODIS. Indeks yang digunakan antara lain NDFI (Normalized Difference Fire Index) dan MNDFI (Modified Normalized Difference Fire Index) yang memanfaatkan nilai reflektansi kanal 2 dan 7 MODIS. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa NDFI maupun MNDFI dapat digunakan untuk mendeteksi area kebakaran hutan dan lahan dengan baik yang dinilai berdasarkan nilai Normalize Distance (D) yang lebih dari 1. NDFI memiliki nilai D sebesar 6.244. Nilai D indeks MNDFI meningkat seiring bertambahnya persentase MNDFI yang digunakan yaitu MNDFI 2.5% sebesar 6.374, MNDFI 5% sebesar 6.590, MNDFI 7.5% sebesar 6.717, dan MNDFI 10% sebesar 6,917. Dengan demikian, MNDFI 10% merupakan indeks terbaik yang dapat digunakan untuk mendeteksi area bekas kebakaran hutan dan lahan di wilayah Kalimantan Barat.

This research aims to detect areas of the former land and forest fires in some regions in the Provinces of West Kalimantan using multiple index values derived from remote sensing data.
