Batik yang menjadi salah satu warisan budaya indonesia, merupakan salah satu warisan yang harus tetap kita jaga dan lestarikan, banyak sekali orang yang malu jika harus mengenakan batik, banyak pandangan batik itu adalah pakaian yang kuno atau pakaian khusus untuk orang tua saja, Pemahaman-pemahaman ini sebenarnya tidak benar, seharusnya kita sebagai warga negara indonesia seharusnya bangga karena mempunyai warisan budaya yang indah dan unik ini,yang merupakan salah satu ciri khas dari negara kita.
Pada tanggal 2 Oktober 2009 oleh UNESCO ditetapkan sebagai Hari Batik Nasional . Pada hari batik nasional ini beragam lapisan masyarakat dari pejabat pemerintah dan pegawai serta pelajar diwajibkan untuk mengenakan pakaian batik. Tujuannya yaitu selain melestarikan kebudayaan indonesia juga memberikan pesan bagi para generasi muda untuk mencintai dan menjaga warisan budaya negara kita Indonesia.
