YOUNG Interfaith Peacemaker Community Indonesia (YIPCI) serentak menggelar Student Interfaith Peace Camp (SIPC) di empat kota di Indonesia, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Bandung, dan Medan, Jumat-Minggu (11-13/11/2016).
Selama tiga hari, peserta belajar banyak hal tentang nilai-nilai perdamaian di berbagai sesi. Peserta dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok untuk membicarakan tentang suku, profesi, dan organisasi kemahasiswaan.
Setiap kelompok mendapat tugas untuk menuliskan empat hal tentang apa yang mereka pikirkan terkait objek tersebut, lalu menempelkannya di balon yang disediakan panitia.
Kemudian, setiap peserta dimintai komentar dan pendapat tentang apa yang mereka tulis. Jika mereka menulis tentang prasangka, maka balon langsung dipecahkan.
Lorenzo Fellycyano, fasilitator YIPC Yogyakarta menjelaskan, selama ini kita seringkali membuat penilaian terhadap suku, profesi, dan organisasi tanpa memahami apakah itu fakta atau prasangka.
“Inti pelajaran dari sesi memecah balon prasangka ini, peserta bisa memperjelas gambaran antara prasangka dan fakta menyangkut orang atau kelompok di sekitarnya,” tutur Lorenzo.
Aksi serupa di SIPC Regional Jawa Barat, panitia mengemas kegiatan membakar prasangka dengan menyalakan api unggun di malam keakraban. Peserta diminta menuliskan tentang prasangka mereka. Kemudian menceritakan dan membagikannya kepada peserta yang lain. Ketika apa yang mereka tulis menjurus pada prasangka, maka kertas itupun langsung dibakar pada tunggu api unggun.
Dengan memecah dan membakar kertas prasangka itulah, peserta diajak untuk mengenal akar perpecahan dan pentingnya pemahaman seputar nilai-nilai perdamaian,
“Selama ini kita seringkali melakukan prasangka. Tak jarang membuat generalisasi terhadap seseorang maupun kelompok tertentu, sehingga penilaian tersebut semakin memperburuk hubungan dengan yang lain,” ungkap Rezha Alausyi Fauzan, Head Facilitator YIPC Jawa Barat.
Kegiatan SIPC digelar dua kali dalam setahun dengan para mahasiswa dari berbagai kampus di tanah air sebagai pesertanya. Mereka berkesempatan mengikuti dengan cara mendaftarkan diri dan mengirim esai terkait ketertarikannya mengenai kegiatan interfaith dialogue dan menjadi agent of peace di kampus mereka.
Dengan mengikuti SIPC, peserta bisa mengikuti berbagai agenda yang digelar YIPCI. Salah satunya, pada Februari 2017 nanti, YIPC menggelar World Interfaith Harmony Week (WIHW) di Singapura dan Malaysia. Di dua negara ASEAN ini, YIPCI menggelar dialog di kampus-kampus dan komunitas mempromosikan tentang perdamaian dan dialog lintas agama.
