Melainkan mengubah leksem menjadi kata kompleks, artinya mengubah leksem itu menjadi kata yang mempunyai arti lebih lengkap, seperti mempunyai subjek, predikat dan objek. Sedangkan prosesnya sendiri di sebut afiksasi (affixation).
