Lain halnya dengan peradilan khusus yang menangani masalah dalam pelaksanaan landreform yang justru dihilangkan dari susunan lembaga peradilan di Indonesia. Pengadilan Landreform pun akhirnya dihapuskan dengan Undang-Undang No. 7 Tahun 1970 tentang Penghapusan Pengadilan Landreform. Kegiatan landreform pun tidak berlangsung lama dan segera dihentikan karena dianggap sebagai produk PKI . Ditambah dengan adanya kemajaun teknologi yang signifikan dalam pasar input dan output pertanian memberikan insentif tambahan untuk memodernisasi tuan-tuan tanah yang berpikir secara wirausaha untuk menolak landreform . Padahal program landreform untuk meredistribusi kepemilikan tanah kepada seluruh rakyat Indonesia belum dapat diselesaikan dengan maksimal.
