Taman Buah Mekarsari punya koleksi enam spesies salak (genus Salacca): Salacca zalacca, Salacca sumatrana, Salacca wallichiana, Salacca affinis, Salacca magnifica, dan Salacca glabrescens. Lima dari enam spesies salak ini menarik karena warna kulit buahnya merah atau justru daging buahnya yang semburat merah. Disini pengunjung dapat menyicipi buah melon secara gratis.
