Kemandirian mahasiswa FPTK UPI di dalam menangkap peluang kerja dan menciptakan lapangan kerja, masih memerlukan suatu upaya peningkatan yang berkesinambungan dan terus menerus, kendatipun mahasiswa tersebut telah mengikuti mata kuliah Praktek Industri/magang. Menyikapi adanya kondisi yang demikian, tampaknya Co-op di UKM bagi mahasiswa FPTK UPI tahun 2015/2016, dibutuhkan bagi mahasiswa FPTK baik untuk yang belum mengikuti mata kuliah PI maupun yang sudah. Jumlah mahasiswa FPTK Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 telah mencapai 3.484 mahasiswa, tersebar di 15 program studi yang membutuhkan penguatan /pengembangan jiwa entrepreneur serta kemandirian di dalam menangkap peluang kerja dan menciptakan lapangan kerja. Berkenaan dengan itu, Co-op UKM bagi mahasiswa FPTK selain harus dapat menumbuhkan jiwa entrepreneur harus juga sudah berani menciptakan wirausaha baru di kalangan mahasiswa FPTK UPI.
