Hal tersebut dikarenakan efektivitas daya hambat dari masing-masing senyawa antimikroba untuk menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri uji tertentu berbeda-beda. Aktivitas dari senyawa antimikroba tidak dapat ditentukan secara absolut, karena tidak saja dipengaruhi oleh sifat-sifat dan mekanismenya, namun juga ditentukan oleh konsentrasinya (Fardiaz, dkk., 1988).

From the results obtained, there is a difference of the diameter of the clear zone of any extracts of spices to each bacteria test, where the clear zone is an area that is not covered by the bacteria test. That is because the effectiveness of power drag of each antimicrobial compounds to inhibit the growth of bacteria to a particular test. Activity of antimicrobial compounds cannot be specified in absolute terms, because it is not only influenced by the properties and the mechanism, but it is also determined by its concentration (Fardiaz, et al., 1988).
