Kualitas jaringan infrastruktur transportasi terutama jalan dan terminal sangat berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan suatu kota karena transportasi memegang peranan penting bagi kelancaran mobilitas manusia dan barang yang berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan pembangunan ekonomi. Kualitas jalan tidak hanya dinilai dari segi kualitas persegmen jalan maupun kualitas simpang saja melainkan dari kualitas keseluruhan jaringan jalan tersebut.
Kualitas jaringan jalan dapat dinilai dari tiga komponen yaitu: kualitas hubungan (konektivitas dan aksesibilitas), kualitas pengaliran lalu lintas dan kualitas cakupan kepadatan. Model jaringan yang digunakan sangat sederhana terdiri dari ruas (jalan) dan simpul (pusat kegiatan wilayah, terminal transportasi, persimpangan atau titik bantu geometri). Penilitian ini difokuskan terhadap penilaian kualitas konektivitas jaringan jalan utama kota Padangsidimpuan dengan tujuan dapat menemukan solusi perbaikan kualitas konektivitas jaringan jalan kota Padangsidimpuan di masa yang akan datang.

Network quality transportation infrastructure especially roads and terminals is very influential on the development of a city because of transport play an important role for the smooth mobility of human beings and goods which have an effect on the improvement of economic development. Quality road was not only assessed in terms of the quality of persegmen road as well as the quality of the intersection alone but of the overall quality of the road network. The quality of the road network can be assessed from three components, namely: the quality of relationships (connectivity and accessibility), the quality of streaming traffic and quality coverage density. The network model used very simple consists of roads (streets) and nodes (central activities area, transportation terminals, junctions or auxiliary point geometry). Penilitian is focused towards the assessment of the quality of network connectivity is the main street of Padangsidimpuan with the aim of finding a solution can repair the quality network connectivity of the city of Padangsidimpuan in the future.

The quality of the road network can be judged on three components: quality of relationships (connectivity and accessibility), quality of streaming traffic density and quality of coverage. This research is focused on assessing the quality of the town's main road network connectivity Padangsidimpuan with the aim to find a solution quality improvement Padangsidimpuan city road network connectivity in the future.
