Compounding adalah proses pembentukkan kata baru dengan menggabungkan dua kata atau lebih yang mana kata baru tersebut bisa jadi mempertahankan arti dari kata-kata yang membentuknya (compositional) atau memiliki arti yang jauh berbeda dari kata-kata asalnya (noncompositional).
Dalam hal ini bisa dilihat bahwa compounding dan blending memiliki perbedaan yang cukup signifikan baik dari makna kata maupun proses pembentukan kata baru. Dengan ini bisa disimpulkan bahwa blending membentuk kata baru dari bagian-bagian kata yang membentuknya dan memiliki arti dari kata-kata asalnya. sedangkan compound, membentuk kata baru dari gabungan secara keseluruhan dua kata atau lebih yang mana arti dari kata baru tersebut bisa jauh berbeda dari kata-kata yang membentuknya atau bisa jadi merupakan makna kata-kata asalnya.

Compounding is the process of the formation of new words by combining two or more words which new words can be so maintaining the meaning of the words that shaped him (compositional) or have a much different meaning from the words origin (noncompositional).In this case it can be seen that the blending and compounding has significant differences from both the meaning of the Word as well as the process of the formation of new words. With it can be inferred that the blending to form new words from parts of words that shape it and has the meaning of words comes from. While the compound, forming new words from the combined overall two or more words which the meaning of a new Word can be much different than the words that shape it or could be the meaning of the words.
