Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara berkembang di Dunia dengan pengaruh tehnologi yang cukup besar yang sebagai konsumen tehnologi negara lain. Agar Indonesia menjadi salah satu Negara maju dan tidak Negara berkembang lagi maka tingkat perkembangan teknologi di Indonesia haru ditingkatkan lagi daripada yang sebelumnya.
Saat ini teknologi menjadi peran utama bagi Masyarakat dengan tujuan membangun bangsa. Internet misalnya, diInternet terdapat berbagai macam-macam pengetahuan yang luas dan jelas semuanya ada didalam Internet, akan tetapi di Indonesia sekarang ini internet masih belum tau penggunaan Internet yang sebenarnya, di Indonesia misalnya beberapa dari pengguna Internet hanya menggunakanya hanya untuk gaul-gaulan atau ngexsis melalui Internet, supaya dipuji canggih, hal itu karena situs jejaring sosial yang semakin diminati masyarakat indonesia, baik anak-anakmaupun sampai yang dewasa.
Internet mempunyai dampak positif yaitu, antara lain Informasi dan Pengetahuan yang tak terbatas bagi para pelajar, untuk bisnis bagi para wira usahawan, sebagai hiburan bagi mereka yang stres karena pekerjaan atau tugas yang menumpuk misalnya bermain game online, sebagai sarana komunikasi yang efisien, sebagai keperluan darurat dan lain-lain.
Disamping dampak positif diatas, Internet juga bisa menjadi dampak negtif bagi masyatakat, contohnya semua orang menjadi ketergantungan terhadap Internet yang menjadikan seseorang menjadi malas untuk berfikir, selain itu adanya situs-situs dewasa yang belum ada tindakan dari pemerintah untuk memblokir situs tersebut, belum lagi dampak lain yaitu cybercrime yaitu kejahatan yang terjadi di dunia maya. Akan tetapi itu sesuai pemakaian anda masing-masing, mau digunakan untuk positif atau negatifnya.
