Skripsi ini berjudul “Konsep Situasi-situasi Batas Karl Jaspers terhadap Tokoh Rama dalam Novel Rahuvana Tattwa Karya Agus Sunyoto (Analisis Semiologi Roland Barthes).” Penelitian ini didasarkan pada begitu eratnya kaitan antara karya sastra dan filsafat. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk melihat bagaimana sebuah gagasan filsafat didedahkan dalam sebuah karya sastra. Gagasan yang coba dilihat dalam penelitian ini adalah eksistensialisme Karl Jaspers yang difokuskan pada aspek situasi batas. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori semiologi Roland Barthes khususnya yang berkaitan dengan makna denotasi dan konotasi. Teori semiologi ini digunakan untuk menerjemahkan tanda di dalam teks yang selanjutnya akan ditinjau lebih dalam dengan menggunakan teori eksistensialisme Karl Jaspers. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan dua hal: (1) tanda yang digunakan Agus Sunyoto di dalam novel Rahuvana Tattwa terhadap tokoh Rama cenderung inkonvensional; (2) konsep situasi batas menurut Karl Jaspers (nasib, perjuangan, kesalahan dan penderitaan) seluruhnya termuat terhadap tokoh Rama di dalam novel Rahuvana Tattwa.

ABSTRACTThis thesis was titled "the concept of Borderline situations Karl Jaspers against Rama's Character in the Novel Rahuvana Tattwa Works Agus Sunyoto (analysis Semiologi Roland Barthes)." This research is based on so eratnya the link between literature and philosophy. Thus, this research was intended to see how an idea of the philosophy unfolded in a literary work. The idea of trying to view in the study of Karl Jaspers Existentialism is focused on the aspects of the situation. This research uses the theory of semiologi Roland Barthes in particular with regard to the meaning denoted and connotations. The theory of semiologi is used to translate the sign in the text which will then be reviewed more in using the theory of Existentialism of Karl Jaspers. The results of this research to conclude two things: (1) sign used Agus Sunyoto in novel Rahuvana Tattwa against Rama figures tend to be unconventional; (2) the concept of borderline situations according to Karl Jaspers (fate, struggle, mistakes and suffering) entirely contained against Rama in the novel characters Rahuvana Tattwa.Keywords: denoted, connotation, fate, struggles, mistakes, sufferings.

ABSTRACT This thesis entitled "Concept Situations Limit Karl Jaspers to figure in the novel Rama Tattwa Rahuvana work Agus Sunyoto (Analysis semiology Roland Barthes)." The study was based on a very close connection between literature and philosophy. Thus, this study was intended to see how a philosophical ideas were exposed in a literary work. The notion of trying to be seen in this study is Karl Jaspers existentialism that focuses on aspects of the boundary situation. This study uses the theory of Roland Barthes semiology especially with regard to the meaning of denotation and connotation. Semiology theory is used to translate signs in the text which would then be reviewed more in using the theories of Karl Jaspers existentialism. Results of this study conclude two things: (1) the mark is used in the novel Agus Sunyoto Rahuvana Rama Tattwa to the figures tend to be unconventional; (2) the concept of limits situation by Karl Jaspers (fate, struggle, guilt and suffering) is contained entirely on the character in the novel Rahuvana Rama Tattwa.
