Membaca buku dan menonton film adal

Membaca buku dan menonton film adalah dua hal yang berbeda. Aku sadar sepenuhnya tentang itu.

Saat membaca, kita memiliki ruang imajinasi yang luas untuk berkhayal sesuai gambaran kita. Demikian pula, kita memiliki banyak kesempatan untuk merenungkan pertanyaan-pertanyaan dan kontemplasi penulis.

Sebaliknya, menonton film adalah membuka diri terhadap imaji dan sentuhan emosi yang dibangun dari gambar, dialog, dan suasana yang terbangun bersama penataan suara. Sensasinya berbeda dari membaca buku.

Berbeda itu ya berbeda. Tak lebih baik. Tak pula lebih buruk. Mungkin seperti merasakan apel dan jeruk.

Begitulah sudut pandangku saat berniat menonton film Sokola Rimba yang diadaptasi dari buku Sokola Rimba karya Butet Manurung.
