Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi perlunya pengetahuan metakognisi dilatihkan kepada siswa sebagaimana yang tercantum dalam Kompetensi Inti tiga untuk SMA. Selain itu perlunya siswa mempelajari alat indra manusia yang diterapkan dalam kurikulum sekolah dikarenakan merupakan salah satu materi yang berkaitan erat dengan kehidupan manusia sehingga dapat langsung dipelajari dengan mudah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis penerapan strategi metakognisi dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa SMA pada pembelajaran alat indra manusia. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelitian ini adalah pre-experiment yang melibatkan 30 siswa kelas XI SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One Group Pretest-Posttest design. Data diambil sebelum dan setelah penerapan strategi metakognisi terkait alat indra manusia untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes penguasaan konsep sebanyak 20 soal pilihan ganda dan Lembar Kerja Siswa berbasis Metakognisi yang merupakan gambaran tahapan strategi metakognisi. Pada temuan penelitian ini terdapat Sig. 2 tailed sebesar 0,00 lebih kecil dari α=0,05 menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai pre-test dan post-test penguasaan konsep siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa dengan strategi metakognisi didapat dari nilai N-gain sebesar 0,68 dikategorikan sedang. Pada penguasaan konsep siswa sebelum pembelajaran menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 40,83 (kategori cukup), sedangkan setelah pembelajaran sebesar 81,50 (kategori sangat baik). Adapun tahapan strategi metakognisi yang hampir semua siswa melakukannya adalah tahapan mengidentifikasi apa yang diketahui dan tidak diketahui sebesar 100%, sedangkan yang paling banyak tidak dilakukan siswa adalah penilaian diri sebesar 70%. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi pembelajaran metakognisi dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa.
