EA membeberkan bahwa game The Sims 4 akan diluncurkan tanpa mode Digital Rights Management (DRM) "selalu online". Artinya, nantinya gamer dapat memainkan game The Sims 4 secara offline alias tidak dibutuhkan koneksi internet. Tentunya ini merupakan kabar baik bagi para gamer yang tidak memiliki koneksi internet.

Sekadar informasi, EA dan Maxis sudah menerapkan mode DRM "selalu online" tersebut di salah satu game terbaru mereka, SimCity 4. Dalam mode ini, si pemain harus terhubung ke internet agar dapat memainkan game tersebut.
