Bahasa adalah alat untuk berkomunikasi antar manusia. Di dunia ini bahasa sangat beraneka ragam, jangankan di dunia, di indonesia saja bahasa sudah berbagai macam, sehingga menimbulkan keindahan tersendiri didalam berkomunikasi. Bahasa sangat penting sekali bagi kita sebagai mahluk hidup, karena tanpa bahasa kita tidak bisa hidup.
Dalam ilmu kebahasaan, banyak sekali ragam ilmu, kita bisa mendapatkan ilmu dengan banyak cara, salah satunya dengan cara membaca. Membaca adalah cara yang tepat untuk memperluas pengetahuan kita. Membaca bukan hanya membaca buku pelajaran saja, akan tetapi membaca novel, koran atau majalah juga bisa menghasilkan ilmu yang berguna bagi klita atau orang lain.
Novel adalah salah satu karya sastra yang banyak digemari oleh semua orang. Novel sering dipakai untuk panduan menulis skripsi, banyak yang bisa diteliti dalam sebuah karya sastra novel, seperti halnya penulis menganalisis mengenai main characters, theme, dan relations between main characters and theme.
Karakter adalah tokoh-tokoh yang muncul dalam sebuah novel sehingga akan menimbulkan cerita yang menarik perhatian pembaca. Karakter adalah hal yang penting dalam sebuah novel, karena dengan adanya karakter, akan muncul juga permasalahan lain seperti plot, tema dan lainnya. Lalu yang dimaksud dengan tema adalah ide pokok dari sebuah cerita novel yang sangat singkat tapi mewakili bagaimana cerita novel tersebut. Biasanya, tema akan terlihat ketika kita sudah membaca dan mengerti dengan alur cerita novel yang kita baca.
Dari karakter dan tema yang muncul, penulis menemukan hubungan antara karakter dan tema dalam novel Dracula, lalu penulis menganalisisnya dengan teliti. Dalam menganalisis hubungan yang terjadi cukup mudah, penulis menguraikan bagaimana karakter muncul dan seperti apa, lalu penulis memahami isi novel tersebut, sehingga mendapatkan tema yang singkat, menarik, dan akurat.

The novel is often used for thesis writing guide, much can be examined in a literary novel, as does the author analyzes about the main characters, theme, and relations between main characters and themes. The characters are characters who appeared in a novel that will give rise to the story that caught the attention of the reader. Character is important in a novel, as with any character, other problems also appears as a plot, themes and more. Then the theme is the main idea of a story very short novel but the novel represent how the story. Usually, the theme will be seen when we've read and understood with the storyline of the novel that we read.
